Research Domain

My research focuses on the development and diffusion of information technology (IT).  Within this area, I have concentrated on the operation and implementation of IT.    I study how IT changes users' behaviour in internet-enabled environments – both traditional internet computing environments as well as mobile computing environments.

A related research focus is IT service engineering, including the study of IT service innovation and the study of how service productivity influences customers' perceptions.   I investigate how firms' dynamic capabilities and users' social factors enable a firm's IT service innovations.

Furthermore, I have a separate research emphasis on the social and economic consequences of IT in which I have investigated the business value of IT and strategic alignment.  In these areas, I utilize various text mining techniques in order to investigate how the value of IT is perceived and influences business performance.
